This is the first time reading anything from this author. In the beginning it read nice and quickly, but as the book progressed i started to sigh a little bit.
I didn’t agree with some of the word choices the author used. Some of the sentences were short and that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I just don’t appreciate when sentences get cut off. Too bad, because it could have been a much better book.
“Cuff her down before you examine her, doc. She’s dangerous.”
My thoughts about Freak
I really love the blurb. It sounds dark, really medical like the title says, what more could anyone want?
It starts off with two very strong characters. Both of them are very dominant. I like that. They are both very sarcastic which makes it even more funny.
I think Tom and Electra are a nice couple. They complement each other in exactly the right moments. They protect and challenge each other. It was a nice read until the storyline changed.
Suddenly we are in the future. A couple of months later and i read about a declaration about love? Where the hell does that come from? I know nothing about their relationship or how it developed between them.
I didn’t like that at all. I find it necessarily to read about that so you can get a bond with the characters as a reader.
This is the reason why I gave this book three stars.
Still i liked the underlying connection between Tom and Electra. They trusted each other the minute Electra walked in the room. It is strong and loving. Very beautiful.
“I would very much like to take her to my place.”
Franly it was a nice read for just once. I won’t read it again.
So bummed because it could be so much better.
