Sometimes, I wondered if he was real. Our time together was short, but it left a lasting impression on me. I’m older now. Wiser, too.
Five years have passed, and I still can’t get him off my mind. Hunter was cruel, angry, and protective. I learned his secrets and he fled.
The day he left, I vowed to find him.I guess now I have an obsession of my own:
Track down Hunter Hammond and make him mine.
Warning: this book contains sex, drugs/alcohol or violence
Coralee June writes mostly from the perspective of Roe. Sometimes there is a chapter from Hunter’s perspective. I did miss more from Hunter, but that’s is more an issue of mine, because I love reading from the guy’s perspective more, than from te girl’s. It wasn’t that I missed anything in the story. So it’s not like I got annoyed by it. On the contrary I got sucked into the story immediately. Coralee writes with a lot of show, which makes you see the story in front of you. It made me empathize really easy with Roe.
He wrapped his hand around my waist and leaned in to whisper in my ear. His lips brushed against my sensitive skin, sending a spiral of confusing reactions zipping through my body. I felt flushed and attuned to every movement he made. “I caught you a long time ago, Roe.”
My review of A Lovely Obsession
At sentence number one I got sucked into the story and it didn’t let me go. The prologue was very strong and I wanted to know so much more. But it wasn’t written from Roe’s perspective and almost everything else in the story is, besides the occasional chapter from Hunter.
It didn’t matter though. As soon as I started chapter 1, I got sucked into her story. Uncle Mack is very overprotective and you start to wonder why. In chapter 3 is a very angst filled twist which brings the story along really well. It causes Roe to meet her stalker, which she didn’t even know she had.
Along the rest of the story I’m like Roe. I want to know why he follows her all her life. Why she is his debt, and why he doesn’t let this go. Just like Roe I start to fall for Hunter. Even though he’s a bit creepy and basically a hitman. Hunter is a broken boy, and if you read my blog for a while, you kinda know by now I’m a sucker for the broken ones. So this isn’t an exception.
The story grips you from start to end and leaves you wanting more. A whole lot more. Unfortunately I have to wait another month. But what’s another month? I can do it. I’m really, really, really excited to read the second one. I gave this book 5 stars, because it really sucked me in and I even dreamed about it. So yeah…
It’s freaking awesome
